Range Rover Evoque Service Intervals Explained

How often does a Range Rover Evoque need servicing?

Land Rover's official recommendation for most Ingenium diesel engines is every 2 years or 34,000 kilometres. At RoverX, we think that is far too long. In our experience, Ingenium diesel engines serviced at that interval accumulate significant oil degradation, carbon buildup and moisture contamination that accelerates wear over time. For Sydney driving conditions, which involve a lot of stop-start urban traffic and shorter trips, the oil is working harder and breaking down faster than the manufacturer's interval accounts for.

Our recommendation for all Ingenium diesel engines is a 6 month or 10,000 kilometre service interval, whichever comes first. Customers who follow this schedule consistently see better engine longevity, fewer carbon-related faults and lower repair costs over the life of the vehicle. It costs more in the short term and saves significantly in the long term. This is not something most dealerships will tell you, because more frequent servicing at independent prices is still cheaper than a dealership service at the manufacturer interval. We would rather give you the honest advice.

What happens at each Evoque service?

JLR uses an alternating service schedule for the Evoque. The standard service covers an oil and filter change, fluid level checks, brake inspection, tyre rotation, battery health check and a full vehicle diagnostic scan. The alternate major service adds additional items including brake fluid replacement, cabin air filter, pollen filter and a more comprehensive drivetrain inspection. At RoverX, we review your Topix service history before every appointment to identify any items that have been missed or deferred in previous services.

Common Evoque service items to watch for

The Evoque's engine air filter and cabin filter are frequently overdue when vehicles come to us, particularly in Sydney where urban air quality places higher demands on filtration. Brake fluid should be replaced every two years regardless of mileage, as it absorbs moisture over time and reduces braking performance. On higher-mileage Evoques, the automatic transmission fluid is worth servicing if it has not been attended to. Many owners are not aware that the gearbox fluid has a service life, and neglecting it can lead to premature wear.

How much does an Evoque service cost at RoverX?

Evoque logbook services at RoverX start from $550. The exact cost depends on the service interval, what consumables need replacing and whether any additional items are identified during the inspection. We will always give you a clear quote before any additional work is carried out. Compared to Sydney dealerships, most Evoque owners save significantly by using RoverX. You get the same factory-trained technicians and Topix service history update at a fraction of the dealer price.
